DACStorE Data Publications

The data generated within the DACStorE Project, as well as its publication, will follow the FAIR principle, thus ensuring all data is findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable.

All DACStorE project team members follow this guideline for all DACStoreE data to ensure compliance with the FAIR principles and the DACStorE data management plan.

Data Steering Commitee

The DACStorE Data Steering Committee helps make sure that all project data is shared in a clear and responsible way. It includes at least one member from each partner organization and starts its work at the beginning of the project. The committee decides which data should be made public, what kind of information (metadata) needs to be added, and how to share it as early as possible. It also keeps track of all data publications and supports the use of the DACStorE website to share results with the public. After the project ends, the committee will help find a long-term place to store the data. Overall, the committee works to make sure that the data is easy to find, use, and understand—both now and in the future.

Database for characterization of potential sites for CO2 storage in Northern Germany

publication by Y. Xu, M. Singh, C. Schmidt-Hattenberger, M. Farkas and colleagues

  • A novel method for selecting CO₂ storage sites for DACCS implementation has been published by GFZ in International Journal of Greenhouse Gas Control. Geological data have been collected and standardised into a comprehensive database. As a case study, 92 Sites for direct air capture and CO2 storage in the North German Basin are identified. It is concluded that minimum ~1.2 and maximum ~5.2 Gt of CO2 can be stored in the identified reservoirs. Respective data are accessible through separate GFZ data publication.
