Award for Outstanding Research at ISE 2025

Auszeichnung für herausragende Forschung bei der ISE 2025
Tamino Bosse

We are proud to announce that our PhD student Tamino Bosse presented his research at the 76th Annual Meeting of the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE) in Mainz, held from September 7–12, 2025. His poster was honored with the Best Poster Award out of more than 1,000 submissions – a remarkable recognition of his scientific contribution.

In his dissertation, Tamino investigates a promising process for capturing carbon dioxide: the electrochemically mediated amine regeneration (EMAR) process. His work focuses on understanding in detail how copper ions interact with amines and CO₂ at surfaces and in solution. By analyzing these interactions, he explores both the beneficial chemical reactions that make the process efficient as well as the unwanted side reactions that can lead to degradation or energy losses. With these insights, his research helps to pave the way for making electrochemical CO₂ capture more robust and scalable.

Tamino is part of Sub-Project II of the DACStorE project, which examines and compares three technical approaches for direct air capture of CO₂ and their potential for scaling up.

Congratulations to Tamino on this outstanding achievement!
